At the same time, welfare reform has become increasingly central to public debate and policy making in many countries across the world. This rapid response call invites sociological consideration of the relationships between contemporary cultural representations of the poor and political\/ideological developments with respect to welfare and social security.<\/p>\n<p>Rapid Response articles should be up to 3000 words in length. Please indicate that the article is in response to this call on your submission.<\/p>\n<p>Authors are encouraged to submit articles as soon as possible after the call and papers will be reviewed and published (if accepted) as they come in. The final deadline is 30 April 2014.<\/p>\n<p>Sociological Research Online publishes high quality, fully peer-reviewed articles across the spectrum of current sociology.
