Mediehistoriska stipendier
Svensk Presshistorisk Förening utlyser två mediehistoriska stipendier om vardera 25 000 kronor för 2014. Stipendierna avser väl avgränsade projekt och inte avhandlingsarbete eller tryckningsbidrag. De kan avse såväl den tryckta pressen som etermedierna och behandla redaktionella, administrativa, tekniska och ekonomiska förhållanden. Ansökan ska innehålla beskrivning av den tänkta studien samt plan och kostnadsberäkning. Ansökan (max 2 A4-sidor, inga bilagor) ska vara föreningen tillhanda senast lördagen den 1 mars 2014 och skickas antingen med post till Svensk Presshistorisk Förening, c/o Engblom, Stjärnstigen 25, 561 35 Huskvarna eller med e-post till Lars-Ake.Engblom@hlk.hj.se.

The Conference is for all researchers, judges, journalists, representatives of NGOs and media practitioners (lawyers, editors, journalists, etc.) who are interested in the practical and legal extent and limitations on the freedom of expression. The conference will provide academics and practitioners alike with the opportunity to learn about the most significant freedom of expression developments in Europe in recent years. Experts from across the continent will provide an overview of the case law of the European Court of Human Rights and the most important trends in the field of freedom of expression. The conference will have as its main focus the legal aspects of freedom of expression, but media’s self-regulation and ‘self-censorship’ will also be discussed.
