Digitaliseringen av medierna har de senaste åren fördjupats, så till den grad att hela affärsmodeller nu är satta i gungning. På vilka sätt har tidningsbranschen tvingats till radikala nytänk? Ser vi en kommande strukturell kris även för linjärt tv-tittande? Hur påverkas förhållandet mellan annonsörer och publicister när Google och Facebook kan kringgå den etablerade marknadsmekanismen? Är fildelningen fortfarande ett hot eller ett komplement? Bör även public service ses som ett sätt att sätta den etablerade marknadslogiken ur spel, eller som en modell med framtiden för sig?

FSMK Nordmedia13 Ph.D. student grant

The FSMK board is pleased to announce that a number of grants for the conference fee are available for doctoral students that have papers accepted at the Nordmedia13 conference. To be eligible for the grant you have to a) be a member of FSMK b) provide a letter of acceptance (or similar) to Nordmedia13 c) provide a bank account to where the payment should go. The deadline to apply for the grant is May 6th and you send your application to michael.karlsson@kau.se. Our organizing principle for giving out grants is to give something to everyone eligible. This means that your grant will probably not cover the whole fee, please keep that in mind when planning for the conference.

On the Move: ACSIS Cultural Studies Conference 2013

Every other year since 2005, The Advanced Cultural Studies Institute of Sweden (ACSIS) has organised a broad-based cultural studies conference that has brought together scholars in the field from Sweden and abroad. The theme of the ACSIS Cultural Studies Conference 2013 is On the Move. People, ideas and things are moving in many areas and directions all over the world and cultural studies research plays a key role in furthering our understanding of these movements.
